Daily Forecast: November 20 2024

Colder air will reach the surface today behind the cold front as high pressure remains just to the north overhead of the New Mexico and Texas border. Temperatures will be below-average, with highs struggling to reach 60 degrees. Overnight, temperatures will drop into the mid 30s, just shy of any freeze. Some areas may feel colder than that due to strong radiational cooling. By Thursday morning, the high pressure will shift southeast, and the coldest temperatures will occur just before sunrise. In the afternoon, highs will feel more seasonable, with temperatures trending upwards into the high 60s. Heading into the overnight hours, lows again will be slightly colder than normal, dropping back down into the upper 30s. By Friday, a weak upper ridge will be in place in the Central Plains. Temperatures will continue their trend upward on Friday and last through the weekend with clear and sunny skies. By Saturday, moderate southwest flow at the surface will help bump up the temperatures. By Sunday, temperatures are expected to top out with highs in the low 80s. Taking a look into next week, a cold front looms on the horizon, bringing colder temperatures and remaining mainly dry.
